About Helena
Hi, I’m Helena Turner—a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (Dip. BCST), Senior Yoga Instructor, and Wilderness Guide based in Nipaluna (Hobart), Southern Tasmania. I offer private in-person sessions, group classes and events, and multi-day programs designed to support your journey toward greater embodiment, health, and relational safety.
My introduction to holistic therapies began over a decade ago, when I trained as a yoga instructor in Brisbane in 2014. Since then, I’ve continued to teach and study the science and mystery of the body through traditional hatha yoga, yin yoga and Daoist philosophy. Since 2018 I’ve been a student of Cha Dao (The Way of Tea) and have been serving Tea Ceremony in my communities regularly since then. I’ve trained in wilderness guiding, eco-therapy, deep nature connection and vision quest practices and maintained a lifelong devotion to writing poetry. My deepest learnings however continue to come through lived experience and long-term observation of the body’s subtle energies and natural rhythms.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Writing (UQ), have completed over 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training in Australia, India and Canada, and earned my Diploma of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy through the internationally accredited Body Intelligence school—a comprehensive two-year practitioner program. I have worked in the natural health and wellness industry since 2014.
My first experience of Craniosacral Therapy happened more than ten years ago, though I didn’t know that’s what I had booked in for! It wasn’t until I moved to Tasmania and began receiving regular CST sessions that I came to really understand its depth and potential as a body-based practice. After a series of significant life events and the onset of chronic depression, I felt internally fragmented, emotionally depleted and constantly on the edge of fatigue.
CST became a slow-burning, life-changing fire in my life—over time the sessions restored a sense of wholeness, resilience, and embodiment. Feeling physically whole and well reignited my heart fire and sense of purpose. My body responded to this therapy very effectively, it felt like coming back to the original language of touch.
My own health challenges and ongoing journey with Craniosacral Therapy informs my professional practice. I bring a refined understanding of living anatomy and subtle energetics, and I work with these systems holistically—in allyship with the greater forces of nature—to support health, regulation, and increased capacity to live a full, heartfelt life.
I love the gentleness of BCST and the way it honors the body’s innate intelligence. Through stillness, presence, and touch, I create a safe space for your system to express what it needs, in its own time and way. My approach is rooted in compassion and trauma-informed care, always centered on listening deeply and responding with respect.
As a wilderness guide and nature-lover, I’m continually inspired by the power of the wild to restore perspective and connection. I love bringing these qualities of spaciousness, rhythm, and depth into my therapeutic work.
I currently teach regular yoga classes at Folde Yoga School in Nipaluna and run monthly Tea Ceremonies at Sandfly Hall. I also co-facilitate Vision Quests with Circle Back Tasmania. If you’re curious to learn more or apply to join our next Quest, you can visit our website here.
It’s an honour to support you in cultivating ease, resilience, and the kind of personal power that arises from a deep sense of being at home in yourself.
